QUALIFICATION
A. College education or equivalent, advanced aviation qualification
– a EASA or UK CAA or FAA Type 1 or Type 2 AMEL License for Engineers
– an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with Instrument rating,
– TRE (type rated examiner) and TRI (type rated instructor) for Pilots.

B. A lead Assessor qualification or other recognized related course would be a distinct
advantage as would involvement in the fields of IATA Safety Auditing (IOSA), International
Standards – Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), along with other appropriate
qualifications, training and experience in:- (please provide documentary evidence)
• Aviation Safety / Loss Control Management
• Conformance / Compliance Assessment
• Risk Assessments, Identification and Corrective Actions
• Investigative Techniques
• Root Cause Analysis
• Interviewing Techniques
• Safety Management Systems
• Air-crash and Incident Investigation
C. Have currency in HUET and Sea Survival training (please provide documentary evidence)
D. A specialist knowledge of all facets of fixed and rotary wing operations is required, particularly
flight operations, aircraft maintenance, engineering and airworthiness, aviation business
processes, helideck standards, refueling, cabin safety, ground handling, survival training and
SAR.
E. Shall be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
and Safety Management Systems (SMS) and continuous improvement principles in the
aviation industry and have the ability to identify, target and recommend new and innovative
aviation safety concepts, technologies and techniques.
F. Aviation Safety Supervisor shall be required to demonstrate an excellent in-depth working
knowledge of FAA, DCA, EASA, ICAO, local regulatory requirements and safety programs
for both rotary and fixed aircraft in general and offshore aviation and related industry
regulations standards in particular. To this end, proposed Aviation Safety Supervisor must
hold an EASA or UK CAA, ICAO 1 compatible license.
G. Aviation Safety Supervisor shall also be required to demonstrate an excellent in-depth
working knowledge of OGP and OPITO guideline criteria & requirements
