Job Description/responsibilities:
Drilling Fluid Advisor
•Responsible to the Drilling Manager for all drilling fluid matters (mud, waste management, solids control, and completion fluids)
•Compliance with Company and Regulatory environmental standards
•Design cost effective drilling, clean up, and completion fluid detailed programs in order to achieve well objectives in safe, efficient, and cost effective manner.
•Monitor the field applications and provide troubleshooting to field problems.
•Prepare estimated fluid related costs. Monitor planned and final cost for Fluids and Waste Management. Compile end of well fluids related cost and material reconciliations.
•Identify areas for improvement in drilling fluids area, develop plan, and execute same.
•Communicate effectively with field personnel. Conduct regular field visits during operational phase.
•Well operations follow up on a daily basis, and recommend changes in areas of competence aimed to optimise safety and efficiency of operations.
•Make recommendations and provide specialist assistance when drilling problems occur.
•Introduce new technologies in drilling fluid designs and solids management
•Lead incident investigation team for fluids related matters (UER Action party)
•Audit fluids providers to ensure quality assurance for all products and services supplied
•Identify hazards relevant to the areas of competence, evaluate and propose the most suitable cost effective mitigation measures.
•Prepare and manage the Waste management Plan for the operational activity.
•Prepare and update the technical documentation, including specifications for tendering for products and services relevant to the areas of competence. Evaluate the technical offers from tender exercises for materials and services.
•Contract Focal Point / Contract Holder for areas of competence.
•Prepare fluids related End Of Well Reports


Qualification/Trade:
•Have at least 15 years experience, with a minimum of 3 years field experience. Experienced in WBM, high technology WBM, OBM, and SOBM. Minimum 5 years holding the subject position in an Operator.
•Be experienced in the design and specification of Reservoir Drill In Fluids to minimize formation damage (minimum 5 years).
•Practical and office based experience of HTHP projects (minimum three HTHP projects)
•Aware of advanced QHSE management system requirements
•Be self-motivated to accomplish world-class results.
•Have a sufficiently broad experience base to be able to exercise independent thought and decision making.
•Good interpersonal skills.
•Be computer literate.
•Have a strong written and verbal command of English.
•Positive thinking, strong analytical analysis and able to work independently.
•Be in possession of a current IWCF Well Control Certificates to Supervisor level and HUET.
