Job Description/responsibilities:
Inspection Engineer
•Member of the Maintenance & Engineering (ME) Local (asset) team
•Responsible for coordinating all inspection activities within the respective Client assets Units in maintaining asset technical integrity and reliability of facilities and equipments such as vessels, pipeline risers, offshore topside piping and onshore piping system, etc,
•Responsible for ME inspection activities for all Sabah Offshore Platforms in the Barton, South Furious, St Joseph, and Kinabalu Oilfields
•Responsible for end-to-end project delivery of Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrosion Management (CM) including; Inspection execution, Problem definition, Contractor supervision, Delivery and execution, Analysis and improvement, of execution performance.
•Coordination with assets operations activities planning and agreed targets and budgets
•Responsible for preparing OPEX (operation expenditure) budgets for Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrosion. Management (CM).
•Creation of Inspection Reference Plans as per the agreed inspection plan,
•Assistance in maintaining Client asset Unit Technical Integrity on the oil and gas production facilities;
•Analysis of inspection data and mapping out areas of deterioration on Client assets,
•Utilization of inspection data from the project to focus on critical areas for future inspection,
•Usage of trends observed and future projections to decide on vulnerable equipment/processes that needs more regular monitoring,
•Realistically generate a periodic re-inspection program with the frequency of return inspections governed by the trends observed,
•Continuously monitoring of inspection effort and actively pursue improvements in efficiency and cost effectiveness;
•Liaise with relevant Client Technical Authorities where necessary for endorsement of assessments and repair recommendations/procedures,
•Updating the procedures for analysis of Inspection anomalies including a thorough design review to determine system design parameters and justification for repair,
•Engage Client Corrosion Engineer in - Risk Based Inspection and inspection work pack preparation;
•Review internal corrosion data and rates and formulate an adhoc - flow line monitoring frequency to safeguard piping and vessel integrity;
•Provide input on integrity status/issues to project group as and when required;
•Verify both on the inspection work-pack prepared by the contractor and also conduct site verification on work pack prior to execution, during and after the execution of the inspection work


Qualification/Trade:
•Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
•Minimum of 8 years proven experience in Planning & coordination of inspection activities, contractors and other technical disciplines Candidates must also have had minimum 2 years experience in execution of the planning & scheduling activities using SAP (or other equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system) during the 8 years
•Proven management skills in terms of people handling & coordination / KPI tracking / DBMS (Database Management Systems)
•Working knowledge of corrosion & inspection techniques (e g Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)), mitigation techniques, deterioration mechanisms, material. & coatings selection, failure analysis.
•Ability to work closely with site operations, maintenance and. technical personnel, as well as other support groups, regulatory contacts, suppliers, and service companies
•Understanding of risk/critical based inspection principles and applications
•Working Knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) I API pressure piping & equipment industry standards
•Proven working knowledge of developing inspection schedules & coordination of inspection personnel
•Experienced in planning I guidance of contract inspectors NDE contractors and inspection contract compliance
•Very good personal independence, verbal & communication skills, diplomacy and high spearheading skills
